A Little Ray of Giving

Giving back to the communities we call home

A Little Ray of Giving is Ray White’s annual Christmas charity initiative, created to support families and individuals who may be doing it tough during the festive season. Launched in 2012, this much-loved programme brings together Ray White offices, local charities, and generous community members across New Zealand and Australia to make a meaningful difference at Christmas.

At its heart, A Little Ray of Giving is about connection. Each participating local office partners with charities close to their community, collecting donations and gifts that are then distributed to families in need. Offices are able to engage their communities and provide a simple, tangible way for people to give back.

The goal is straightforward but powerful: to bring comfort, support, and smiles to children and families at a time of year that should be filled with joy.

Our Local Impact

In the month of December, our team collectively donated a portion of their commission to causes close to the hearts of our clients, reflecting our shared commitment to giving back where it matters most.
Through this initiative, we raised $3,500 for organisations making a meaningful difference in our community.These donations were directed to a range of organisations, including:

Starship Hospital
Billy Guyton Foundation
Water Safety New Zealand

First Steps Himalaya

SPCA and other deserving local and national charities. Each contribution helped support vital services and brought hope to families and individuals when they needed it most.

Little Ray in Our Community

Little Ray plays a special role in bringing the A Little Ray of Giving campaign to life within our community. Through the festive and much-loved “12 Days of Elf on the Shelf” activity, Little Ray helps generate excitement, encourages participation, and raises awareness for the charities we support.

Each day brings a new moment of fun and connection, giving our team and the wider community a reason to engage, share, and get behind the cause – all while keeping the focus on giving back during the festive season.

This year, Little Ray created a particularly memorable moment by giving Luka, a young member of our community, the opportunity to ride on Santa’s sleigh during the Richmond Santa Parade. It was a joyful experience that captured the true spirit of Christmas and reflected what A Little Ray of Giving is all about – connection, generosity, and creating lasting memories.
